Getting Started

Download the AS3 / Flex .SWC file here.

Application Key

Important: Usage of the MapQuest Platform: ActionScript SDK requires an application key. If you do not already have one, please visit the MapQuest Developer Network and sign-up for one.

Free Edition Key

Used for production versions of the SDK

Can be used in any publicly available production or development site

Cannot be used with versions of the SDK which are still in beta

Developer Edition

Used for versions of the SDK which are still in beta

Used by Enterprise Edition customers for development

Cannot be used in a production environment

Assumptions

• You understand the basics of the ActionScript language.

Supported IDE's and Flash Players

The Actionscript SDK supports FlexBuilder 3 as well as FlashBuilder 4.

• FlexBuilder 3 - Supports Flash Player 9 and above.
• FlashBuilder 4 - Supports Flash player 10 and above.
  • When using FlashBuilder 4, in order to see actual tiles on a map in design view, a valid Mapquest key must be entered into the key property.
  • When using FlashBuilder 4 with SDK 4
