Request/Response parameters

The following table describes the parameters in a Map Data request. The request allows you to query the map data, such as Navteq. This is the same data used to draw the map level and can be used to search map data such as parks, streets, airports, etc. Refer to the categories below on how to specify what to search for. There is one restriction to Map Data which is corridor searches currently do not support Map Data (Coming soon).

 The name of the data source to search
Categories
Integer[]		 The list of Categories to search for in the map data, such as zip codes, streets, trade areas, etc. Click here for a list of categories. You are required to enter at least one.

Data Sources

Mapquest maps receive data from multiple sources depending on what area of the Earth is on the map and what zoom level the map is at. All of these sources can be searched for the Categories shown below. Here is a list sources available to search.

Name Description
navt This is a general data source that contains map data for all over the world.
and This is a different data source that also contains map data from all over the world.
nadb The nadb (North American Database) contains information for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
ntmex This data source contains data in Mexico.
nteur This data source contains data from Europe and Russia.
ntpac This data source contains data for the Asia/Pacific region.
ntafr This data source contains data for Africa.
ntaus This data source contains data for Australia and New Zealand.
ntsa This data source contains data for South America.
ntcarib This data source contains data for the Carribean.

Here are a list of categories in the map data to search on. These values where fomally known as Display Types(DT). These categories span across all the different map data sources available.
